Ghana’s burgeoning online business community will once again meet in Accra for the 4th Ghana eCommerce Expo and Conference on 23-24 November 2017, under the theme, “Shaping Ghana’s eCommerce Landscape through Innovation, Regulation and Adoption. Together”.

This important annual gathering of leading e-commerce retailers, fintechs, digital payment platforms, telcos, digital banks, Internet Service Providers, mobile app developers, cybersecurity firms and major players in Ghana’s online business space is powered by OML Africa, organizers of high profile corporate events.

In its fourth edition since its maiden edition in 2013, this year’s event will provide a unique platform for over 50 exhibitors, 100 conference delegates and nearly 2,000 exhibition visitors to share knowledge, learn from leading experts, update themselves with latest trends in e-commerce, build new business contacts offline, showcase latest technologies as well as network with major players in Ghana’s fast-growing online business market.

According to Paul Asinor, speaking on behalf of the OML Africa, the organizers, “I am very excited about this year as activity in Ghana’s online and digital space has been overwhelming. With almost all banks launching a mobile banking app, government agencies going digital with online payment platforms, Smart Drivers Licenses being launched, efforts to acquire national digital addresses, paperless ports, workers being encouraged to receive salaries on cashless platforms, etc, only mean Ghana is getting the right message that the future, especially in business, is online. Ghana has to get its systems in order to take advantage of the $75 billion eCommerce trade value in Africa’s leading economies by 2025 as projected by the McKinsey Global Institute.”

“Registration for free tickets to the exhibition only opened a few weeks ago and already hundreds have registered to attend the exhibition and view the anticipated stunning display of latest technologies, apps, mobile commerce, digital payments, cutting-edge software, etc from the nearly 50 exhibitors, notably; Zoobashop, Jumia, Interpay, MainOne Cable, Aramex, Link Afrika Consultants, Businessghana, Newsghana, Viotech, iVet, Yenko Taxi and many more. What’s more, exhibition visitors will stand a chance of winning free digital decoders and months of free viewing whiles enjoying free wifi throughout the duration of the event”, he added.

Concluding he said, “The conference stream this year is a complete line up of seasoned speakers and experts in various aspects of ecommerce. From fintech, crypto-currency, cyber security, online marketing, delivery, etc, once you are into ecommerce, there is a slice of high-quality content for you as we have 5 trending panel discussion topics for our delegates as well as plenary sessions, keynotes, demos, workshops, a Masterclass with luminaries such as Albert Biga (CEO, Zoobashop); Massimiliano Spalazz i(CEO, Emerging Markets and Jumia Market); Stephen Nana Osei-Boadi (Chief Digital Enabler, Enable Growth Africa); Romeo Bugyei (MD, IT Consortium); Alex Oppong( Principal Consultant, eCrime Bureau)”.

Others are Saqib Nazir(Founder, Interpay); Daniel Abunu(MD, Viotech); Adam Bonaa(CEO, Kazz Group); Agastee Khantee(former Country Manager, Ringier Ghana); Paul Aninkawah (Country Manager, CIMA Ghana); Carl Sackey (Business Development, GCNet): and a team of high-ranking officials from the Ministries of Trade and Communications; Ghana Revenue Authority; Bank of Ghana, Ghana Post; etc.

Some interesting panel discussions include “Approaching Regulation Change in a Digital Age”; “Defining the Future of Digital Banking”; “Of Paperless Ports, Cross-Border Parcel Delivery & Thinking Outside the Parcel Box”; and “ Re-Examining Approaches to Cyber Risk”.
