A Step to Reduce Unemployment

A Step to Reduce Unemployment

Ecobank in collaboration with the Government of Republic of Ghana has signed a memorandum of understanding with the national youth authority (NYU) to use trainees after they complete their programme of study.

According to research Ghana’s biggest problem is unemployment because 48% of our biggest assets, the youth, cover 60% of our population but are unemployed.
The unemployment rate is the measure of the prevalence of unemployment and it is calculated as a percentage by dividing the number of unemployed people by all people.

However, the causes of unemployment are heavily debated and its worst result is the high ratio of dependency.

The senior minister Yaw Osafo- Maafo entreated Ecobank to create employment in order not to disappoint government.

He added, Ecobank should be committed to skill acquisition and adjured the trainers to offer world-class ability to the beneficiaries.

The memorandum was signed when His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo launched the Online/Digital Marketing Entrepreneurship programme for 3,000 unemployed youth to undergo; a 30-month all-expense paid training programme.

In a quest to reduce unemployment Ecobank’s decision to support the motion is highly commendable making the ordinary Ghanaian happy.

Ghanaians therefore entreats all agencies and corporations to help reduce this social canker to make the world a better place.
